INTRODUCTION
Anatomy is the fundamental subject which forms the base for training of professionals in the field of Medicine and Dentistry. Department of Anatomy deals with four primary areas that constitute Morphological Sciences: Gross Anatomy, Histology, Neuroanatomy and Human Embryology. Department is responsible to teach these four anatomical disciplines to the students of the Colleges of Medicine and Dentistry and Graduate students of all colleges of Kuwait University.
MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
The major objective of the Department of Anatomy is to provide sound knowledge of the structural organization of the human body to Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences and Graduate students. The Department offers courses in Gross, Microscopic, Developmental and Neuroanatomy. These courses are designed to meet the requirements of the students in their respective professions.
The Department of Anatomy supports the research culture of the Health Sciences Centre by fostering studies in Anatomical Sciences employing morphological, behavioral and molecular techniques. Department favors and encourages intra-departmental, inter-departmental and inter- college collaboration among investigators. Current college members’ research interests are in the broad fields of Neurosciences, Teratology, Toxicology and Environmental Sciences.
