The major objective of the Department of Anatomy is to provide sound knowledge of the structural organization of the human body to Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Allied Health Sciences and Graduate students. The Department offers courses in Gross, Microscopic, Developmental and Neuroanatomy. These courses are designed to meet the requirements of the students in their respective professions.
Department of Anatomy supports the research culture of the Health Sciences Centre by fostering studies in Anatomical Sciences employing morphological, behavioral and molecular techniques. Department favors and encourages intra-departmental, inter-departmental and inter-faculty collaboration among investigators. Current faculty members’ research interests are in the broad fields of Neurosciences, Teratology, Toxicology and Environmental Sciences.
